Thank you for visiting our website. Whatever your PAT testing requriments we can help. DRA Electricals provide cover for all types of business including hotels, offices, industrial, construction, schools and domestic too. We can also arrange fixed wire testing, emergency lighting and fire protection for you.
Limited Company
DRA Electricals began in 2009 as a Sole Trader business, owned by Richard Ayre. Over time the business grew and gained some high profile clients. In July 2012 we became a limited company and chose to trade under the name DRA Solutions Limited. Richard is very passionate about PAT Testing and ensuring he provides the best possible service. Ulimately ‘we’ are a small business. We are one person. We have an administrator who is self employed and works for us on a part time basis – we hope one day we will need to employ full time for this position. We also have 3 local engineers/electricians who regularly work with and for Richard on larger jobs.
If you book us to do your PAT Testing, there is a 99% chance that it is Richard you will deal with throughout the entire process.
Accreditations and Training
Providing the number 1 service is essential to us, and so all engineers are qualified to conduct PAT testing through City and Guilds and undergo our own stringent tests before conducting any work for us. Richard has also completed Part P and 17th Edition. We are registered members of the Association for Professional Appliance Testing and are the PAT Testers of choice for the NECC. We have CRB disclosure and CSCS cards.
A message from our Director
Hello, thanks for enquiring as to who we are, or more to the point, who I am. I think its very important in business, to know who you are working with, I know that is important to me.
My name is Richard, I’m the owner of DRA Electricals, a company I established in 2009 (at the height of the recession). The business has built very well since then, and is on strong foundations, with a good business plan in place. It is the aim of the business to become the “Most recommended PAT Tester in the UK”, which of course will take a lot of time. However, we are making good progress, we have over 200 satisfied clients, and have completed more than 25,000 PAT Tests (at time of writing, March 2012). Our clients include singers, DJ’s, hairdressers, offices, shops, construction companies, Health & Safety companies, offices, letting agents, call centres and hotels, to name but a few.
I’m very proud to have acquired every one of my contracts, no matter what size. Our clients include Sanderson Weatherall, Seaham Hall Hotel and the North East Chamber of Commerce.
It is important to me to have a good working relationship with my clients; I feel it best to meet them before submitting a quote, and will conduct a review of their site so that the quote I do give is as precise as possible.
I’m a people person, a strong believer in people-buy-people, and so I network as often as I can; I’m active with the Mushroom Club (whom I am a Director for), the Mussel Club and the NECC.
I deal directly with my clients in all correspondence and meetings, and I undertake the contracts personally. I have very high standards which I maintain at all times to ensure clients are always getting the best possible service. I have clients all over the UK, mainly in the North East, but also in the Lake District, Lancashire, Yorkshire and London.
With regards to pricing, I offer fair personal pricing – our clients get the best deal possible for the high standard of service they receive. I quote any job based on it’s own merits taking into account environment, location and frequency. So, I don’t have a set price for everything. However, I also try to avoid bidding wars and ridiculously low prices. I’m also a great believer in you get what you pay for, and I prefer to get a great service at a reasonable price than a poor service at the cheapest price.
