Maintaining electrical equipment at safe standards is required to comply with health and safety; to do it correctly there is a three stage process:
- User checks
- Formal Visual Inspections
- Combined Inspection and Testing
The first two should be done in-house, rather than by the contractor who does number 3, but most companies get PAT testing done annually rather than doing anything in-house.
