Schools are required to keep PAT testing records up to date, as the governing bodies need to know the school is taking health and safety seriously. 

Children don’t always know about safety, and they could be using a damaged appliance, or damaging appliances themselves, so it’s good practice to do regular inspections on appliances, together with periodic portable appliance tests. 

Ofsted requires up to date PAT records in the audit of the schools’ documents – make sure yours are in place.
