Are you looking for work as a PAT tester?
We are looking to expand our team, you don’t need to have experience although it is preferable, as training will be given.
We will provide you with an Apollo 600, test leads, spare parts, etc.
We will employ you on a 3-month training programme plus a further 3 months probation; on a contract of at least one day per week (likely more once you’re working alone); following a 1-day trial, unpaid, for all of us.
You will need:
- Access to your own vehicle with business use insurance
- Your own basic electricians tool kit
- To be smart, presentable, polite, friendly, with good communication skills, educated to at least GCSE standard.
By the end of the 3 month probation (and training programme) period you must have completed your City and Guilds 2377 training course and passed the exam, with study done in your own time. Ongoing self-motivated learning there-after is essential. You will be checked by DBS as soon as you start; if you fail, the fee will be taken out of any owed wages, and your contract terminated.
You can be employed, or self employed, but if you are self employed you must have your own public liability insurance.
We pay hourly, based on an 8 hour day including travel to the job, and 30 minutes lunch.
You will be paid the equivalent minimum wage until your probation period ends, then £8.50 per hour if we are doing your admin, or £9.50 per hour if you are doing your own (you will need a computer, and a copy of excel or Simply Pats to do your own admin).
You are expected to achieve around 200-300 items per day.
You must be available for some weekends and at least one evening per week (won’t always be required).
We will provide:
- Company polo-shirts, which must be worn to every job
- Labels to use on each job
- Job information
