Plugs and fuses replaced for free
Remedial repairs to ’13a’ plugs, and their leads will be done free of charge including rewires of the plug. Replacing a part of the plug, the full plug or the fuse will be done free of charge. If the full lead needs replacing the cost will be calculated and you will be quoted for the work, which may be done immediately or at a later date, at the engineers discretion. If we supply a plug to an appliance that did not have a plug, you will be charged £2.50 for the plug.
Microwave Emissions Testing
In addition to the PAT test we check microwave ovens for emissions leakage, and function and internal defects, at just £5.00 per oven.
PAT testing Certificate Reports
We issue your fully itemised PAT Testing Certificate Report as a PDF document, by email, by the end of the week in which the job was done. If you need your certificate quicker than that, it can be issued the same day for an extra £10.00 charge. Multiple certificates, asset registers and excel records are all available on request; additional charges may be applied.
Guidance on retests & reminders
We can help you set up your PAT Testing frequency on risk based retest periods, and will also send you reminders when next tests are due.
110v Appliances
Inspection and testing of 110v plugs takes longer and usually involves time consuming repairs, so we charge £1.50 per item to test these; if we have to repair 110v items there is an additional £1.50 per repair charged. If the plug needs replacing it will be supplied and fitted for £9.99 – it will not be done automatically; our engineer will check before replacing a plug.
Out of hours options
We can work evenings, weekends and overnight if required; you will need to contact us for a personal price for this.
Fixed Appliance Testing
If we come across any appliances that used to have a plug, but are now ‘hard wired’ we will inspect them and test them for earth continuity. To do a full test the power needs isolating so you may want to do this out of hours. We will discuss your options when on site. The cost of this is £40.00 per hour.

About your PAT testing appointment
DRA PAT testing’s engineer will arrive at the time you have been quoted for your PAT Testing appointment; if he’s going to be late he will keep you informed. When he arrives if you can show him what there is to test, so he can do his risk assessment and give you any necessary guidance to minimise disruption to you.
If there is anything that can’t be tested/turned off; show him now so he knows/so you can discuss what to do.
He will work systematically around your site/equipment in order to minimise your disruption and to get the job done efficiently and as swiftly as possible.
He will assess what equipment needs testing; all appliances will be inspected visually, repairs will be carried out if necessary and then appliances that need testing, will be tested.
If you have microwave ovens, they will also be tested for micro-wave emissions leakage, and checked internally for rusting etc.
If appliances can’t be repaired by us, or are beyond repair, they will fail and you’ll be advised of what to do with them – we don’t remove dangerous equipment, or cut plugs off, but clearly mark the appliance with prominent fail labels.
On completion of the work the engineer will go over what has been done and advise of any actions needed by you.
Back at the office, when he does his admin he’ll use the collected data to create the PAT Testing Certificate Report which will be sent to you as a PDF document by email. This is always done within 5 working days of the job completing, sometimes sooner, but if you need the report the same day let us know in advance (same day payment required).
Also, once the job is complete we will issue the invoice, which should be paid on receipt although we will offer up to 30 days credit for commercial clients and 7 days for domestic.
The engineer will ask you to post a review on Google, of his work – he’ll remind you when he sends the report. Reviews are of great importance to us, not only as feedback but it helps our online marketing, so we would really appreciate if you can do this review.
