What’s included in the PAT testing service we provide?
Our PAT Testing service includes a full visual inspection of every appliance, followed by professional electrical testing using calibrated equipment to ensure each item is safe to use. We provide free remedial repairs such as replacement plugs and fuses, and we’ll rewire or tighten connections where needed to prevent failures. Every appliance is labelled with a pass or fail result, and you’ll receive a detailed digital report for your records — fully accepted by insurers, local authorities and health & safety auditors. Our goal is to make compliance simple, thorough and hassle-free.
We even remove old labels before applying ours, strangely a lot of our competitors don’t do this.
PAT Testing Certificates that tick every box
Our PAT Testing certificates are more detailed, clearer and more comprehensive than standard reports offered by many providers. Each certificate includes a full asset register, individual test results, appliance locations, remedial actions taken and clear pass status for every item — giving you complete transparency and an auditable record that meets the expectations of insurers, local authorities, health & safety inspectors and regulatory bodies. We also include a log of any items that failed their inspection. Sent to you by email as a PDF document for easy storage and compliance management, making it simple to evidence that your electrical equipment has been properly tested to the highest standards. With DRA PAT Testing, you don’t just get a basic certificate — you get a professional, industry-leading safety document designed to protect your business. Wireless Testing Devices
Our engineers use battery powered test machines, so we don’t need you to have electricity, and it means we can work around your staff much easier, leading to a more efficient service.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is PAT testing a legal requirement?
While PAT testing itself is not explicitly written as a standalone law, UK legislation—specifically the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989—requires all employers, landlords, and self-employed individuals to maintain electrical equipment in a safe condition. Regular PAT testing is universally recognized by local authorities and insurance companies across the North East as the most effective way to prove compliance.
How much does PAT testing cost for North East businesses?
Our pricing is completely transparent and structured on a competitive per-item basis. We do not charge hidden travel fees or regional premiums, whether you are located in central Newcastle or rural Northumberland. Your final quote depends entirely on the number of appliances that need testing. Get in touch with our team today for a rapid, hassle-free quote tailored to your exact location.
How often do electrical appliances need to be tested?
The frequency depends entirely on the type of equipment and the environment it is used in. For example, high-risk tools on a construction site or industrial machinery in a Sunderland factory may require testing every 3 or 6 months. Standard office IT equipment in Newcastle or a student HMO property in Durham typically only needs testing every 12 to 24 months. Our qualified engineers will provide an accurate, compliant testing schedule during our visit.
Will the testing cause disruption to my daily operations?
We aim for minimal downtime. Our engineers work quickly and can test equipment out-of-hours, during evenings, or over weekends to ensure your business operations or tenancies are completely uninterrupted.
What happens if an item fails the safety inspection?
If an appliance fails due to a simple issue like an incorrect fuse or a damaged plug, our engineers will repair it on-site immediately at no extra charge. If the item has a major internal defect and cannot be safely repaired, we will label it clearly as a “Fail,” remove it from service, and log it in your report so you can arrange for a replacement
