We’re like a one stop shop for electrical safety! We can inspect and test portable appliances, fixed appliances, the mains wiring installation, emergency lighting and fire alarms.

We’ve specialised in electrical equipment testing for a long time and have tested a lot of a appliances, in lots of different places, for many, many clients.

To put figures on that, we have tested well over a MILLION appliances to date, for over 1000 clients across the UK.

Our team of specialist engineers are all based in the North East – we’re not pretending to be here like most you’ll see advertised. We’re based in North Tyneside, so most of our work is in the local area, such as Newcastle upon Tyne, Cramlington, South and North Shields, Gateshead, and throughout Tyne and Wear, and southern Northumberland. DRA PAT Testing has been inspecting and testing electrical equipment in the North East of England since 2009; based in Newcastle upon Tyne we cover mot of Tyne and Wear, Northumberland, Co. Durham etc. Wherever you are, whatever you need testing we can help.

We have our main working area, which is predominantly from Blyth to the Tyne and across to the West of Newcastle then up to Morpeth, but we also cover Tyne and Wear, North Co Durham and Southern Northumberland areas – see the map for our main working areas. 

We will consider jobs elsewhere so please contact us if that affects you – please note that we do charge to cover travel costs as our full team are paid travel time and fuel. 

Every PAT estimate we provide, for every PAT job is bespoke to your unique individual needs so we don’t advertise fixed prices. Tailored to your specific requirements and for your location taking into account travel time too based on our day rate jobs in different locations will come with different costings, although always falling within our company day rates. 

We operate 7 days a week, with weekend’s and school holidays at a premium needing to booked well in advance so don’t leave it too late, during “business” hours – we can start as early as 5 or 6am if needed, and are available into the evening although on most days we work between 8am and 4pm. 

We are based in North Tyneside, near Newcastle upon Tyne so can get to all of Tyne and Wear within 30 minutes, and most of the North East within the hour so we’re best placed for your electrical inspection work.

Our engineers are qualified through City and Guilds, and highly trained to ensure you get a thorough formal visual inspection on every appliance, any repairs that may be necessary will be carried out and peace of mind that your electrical items are safe to continue using.

We will provide you with an itemised PAT Testing Certificate Report within 48 hours of the job, and schedule in additional appointment dates on retest anniversaries so your Certificate never runs out – and we’ll send you an appointment reminder nearer the time. This is all done following a conversation with you to see what PAT testing frequency is best for your equipment.
