We’ve have over 80 5 Star Google reviews for PAT Testing
Chris Ames, General Manager
These guys were recommended to us and they came in recently to do the PAT Testing. The service was first class and report very professionally presented in an easy to understand format. It is rare I give 5 stars in a review however in this case it is thoroughly deserved and would recommend DRA PAT Testing Limited to any organisation ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Efa Owens, Acquisition Manager
Excellent, friendly and efficient service. We have a lot of staff that work flexibly and Richard was happy to pop back at a later date to test their equipment which we hadn’t initially mentioned. Would recommend DRA to any organisation that needs appliance testing carried out. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Julie Dixon, Company Secretary
We are very impressed with your service, everything very professional and as you promised. As a small business we find it hard to find reliable companies to deal with, it makes a refreshing change to come across a company with similar ideals to us – a fair job at a fair price with pleasant employees and proper paperwork! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We specialise in Electrical Appliance Testing
Electrical Appliance Testing is another name for PAT testing; still recognised as the process of portable appliance testing, PAT is now often referred to as electrical appliance testing because all electrical appliances require the same periodic inspections, testing and maintenance when required. In oder to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations all electrical equipment needs to be maintained to a safe standard, to prevent danger to users.
This includes portable appliances (fitted with a plug), industrial (fitted with an adaptor for alternate voltages/amperes), fixed (no plug but hard wired via a connection device aka a spur) and battery operated.
You can actually test all of these yourself if you are competent to do so; you could train someone in house to do the work- they could go on a PAT testing course, get the qualification, do additional courses in safe isolation and electrical skills, buy all the gear including a machine, tools, labels, software etc and hope they remember their training every year! Or you could get us in to do the work, we’ll do it quicker and it’ll cost a lot less, and to make it even better we’ll assess the risks of your equipment in order to put in place a managed programme to ensure your equipment is checked for safety on a regular basis, appropriate to the risk. In most cases, for example office-based companies, this could mean you save more money as you may not need annual testing.
For reference; all PAT testers should be able to test portable appliances – for the rest specialist training needs to be done and not everyone is trained – we are; we can cover all these methods for you. In regard to battery operated appliances they don’t actually need any kind of test; we can inspect them for you however it is recommended by the guidance that you inspect them yourself in-house before use. Such as making sure your laptop isn’t broken.

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (UK workplace law) covers all electrical appliances including computers, screens, televisions, printers, kettles, power tools, power leads, etc. used in any business or public place. The appropriate person in the business or organisation is responsible for ensuring the appliances are safe to comply with the law.

We aim to make the process of arranging and doing your electrical appliance testing as simple and stress-free as possible, which is why we offer a complimentary site survey in advance of quoting or doing the job where we can view your site and discuss your situation in order to propose a sensible, cost-effective solution to ensuring you comply with the Electricity and Work regulations, long term.
